New Realtor? I have some Advice for You,.............

Bloggers,.......and new Realtors,

I would like to help out some of the new Realtors just getting started in their new career path. Especially helpful to those who have not chosen an Brokerage yet.

Avoid some of the costly mistakes i made early on in my new job.  First and foremost, research the job before taking the time to get your license.  It can be a difficult job for some, and the proper research by talking to a few Realtors, maybe friends or neighbors who are in the business will help.

Do not fall into the seduction of Paid Systems that will get you your Leads and Business.  They are Costly and can put you in a hole before you have even started.  The best way for new Realtors is the old fashion way.  What is the old fashion way? Face to face meetings with  people who may be looking to move or buy.   Open houses, are great.  Advertise them and make it so people "need" to RSVP to attend.

Flyers.  Hand out flyers, and talk to people.   Make your Flyer a service oriented flyer and not just a sales pitch.  Provide something of value, and people will listen.

Be consistent in your plan.   Even if your starting part time, keep to  your schedule and keep notes of where you have prospected and how.   What are the results? And yes, NaySaying Brokers, An agent can be successful starting part time. It just takes a persistent schedule and the proper research and it can be done.

Brokerages?  Hanging your license with a broker is just not enough anymore.  Find an office that will help your business.  One that will  have a few agents that need an assistant and can take you on so that you learn first hand how to fill out the RPA's ect.

Research the different methods some Brokerages have in obtaining business and see which one is more pro active to the new agent, and which one has a consistent base of Listings that you can advertise and do Open Houses for.

Make sure you go in to your new endeavor knowing as much as  you can about the Ins and Outs to feel more at ease with your new path . Knowledge truly is power,......................

Any questions, feel free to write me here.
